While we would like to hear from you, we cannot represent you as our client until, among other things, we know that doing so will not create a conflict of interest. Accordingly, please do not send us information about any matter that may involve a potential legal representation until you receive a letter from us offering to represent you (an "engagement letter"). Unless you are already a client of ours, and an engagement letter has been signed by both of us, your communications may not be treated as privileged or confidential.
The best way to initiate a possible representation is to phone Alix, Yale & Ristas, LLP at 860.527.9211. We will request and review some non-confidential information to ensure that no conflict of interest exists between our representation of you and our representation of any existing client. If no conflict exists, one of our attorneys will contact you to discuss your matter in further detail, and may send you an engagement letter. When you return the signed engagement letter to our office, you will be our client, and we may exchange information freely.
If you communicate with us by email in connection with a matter for which we already represent you, please remember that email is not fully secure. Unless other arrangements have been made specifically, avoid sending highly sensitive or confidential email messages without ensuring the security of such messages.
